The Accounting History Research Database
The Accounting History Research Database was started at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, under the guidance of Professor Gary Previts, with the original team consisting of Eileen Connell (IT), Professor Martin Persson (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne), and Professor Garen Markarian (University of Lausanne). The plan is to make a research database with the sole objective of aggregating all accounting history articles published since the 1970s.
At the moment, the AHRD indexes the 3 English language accounting history journals: Accounting Historians Journal, Accounting History Review (formerly Accounting, Business and Financial History), and Accounting History. Additionally, we have indexed De Computis (Spanish Journal of Accounting History). Our immediate plans are to index, to the best of our abilities, accounting history articles from Japan, China, France, Italy, and Germany.
Over the years we have had substantial help, and valuable input, from the following to which we owe tons of gratitude:
- Professor Esteban Hernández Eteve (University of Burgos) and Professors Fernando Gutiérrez Hidalgo and Vicente Antonio Perez Chamorro (Universidad Pablo de Olavide) - Editors at De Computis: Spanish Journal of Accounting History
- Professor Massimo Sargiacomo (University of Pescara)
- Professor Cheryl McWatters (University of Otawa), Editor - Accounting History Review
- Professor Eichiro Kudo (Seinan Gakuin University), President - Accounting History Association Japan
- Professor Xiaoming Song (Shanghai Lixin University), vice-President of Accounting History of the Chinese Accounting Society, past President of China Accounting Museum
